Introducing a Vacancy Brewing + Batch Beer & Kolaches Collaboration

Join us this Friday, November 22nd for the beer release and Kolache eating contest.

When our brew crew huddled up with the fine folks over at Batch Craft Beer & Kolaches to brainstorm our next concoction, we all drew inspiration from styles that we like to drink: sessionable lagers and English pub ales. Then someone said, “Why not both?” Cue collective beer nerd gasp.

Enter Extra Special Batch, a beer that tips its flat cap to the classic Extra Special Bitters of the Motherland.

Instead of using traditional English Ale yeast, we kept it cool with our cold-fermenting house lager yeast. Built upon a base of English Lager Malt and Marris Otter, this bloke gets a proper rounding out from three different English caramel malts and a cheeky kiss of East Kent Golding Hops. The result is a shiny penny-colored lager that’s been lagered for eight weeks. Expect notes of toasted biscuits, toffee, and just a hint of spice.

We couldn’t do a collaboration beer with Batch without bringing Kolaches into the mix! We’re hosting a Kolache Eating Contest at 7pm. Come early to sign up for a spot!
